My mom washed a batch of white clothes with a red sweatband, causing all of them to turn a semi-noticeable pink. Would re-washing the whites take care of it...is bleach needed? Some of the shirts have logos on them, will the bleach take care of that? |

| reply to KingWaffle I have this problem with a blue nightgown I dyed. Who knew it would keep 'bleeding' fo the next year?? The only thing to do is use bleach. I've tried other products but none worked so don't waste your money. -- I'm a woman by the way . |

| said by alg :In the future use cold water for the win. Huh? Shouldn't it be " Welcome my Son, Welcome, to The Machine... " My suggestion is to add bleach to the washing machine water and let it start washing, THEN put in the pink clothes, then stop it running after 5 minutes and let it soak for about 3 hours, then start it up again. ...repeat as necessary. If they are really pink you may have to make up a bleach solution in the bathtub or a plastic pail and soak them for a day or two. Don't make the bleach solution too strong, as it will cause everything to fall apart, and that style went out some 20 years ago! -- Dawn,n,The time when men of reason go to bed. (Ambrose Bierce.) |
