I had the same problem with you and i fixed it...

1.Download openwrt-wrt54g-squashfs.bin
2. Reboot Linksys WRT54G v3.1 and ..
3. tftp -i 192.168.1.1 put openwrt-wrt54g-squashfs.bin
4. OK!
5. Reboot and enable boot_wait after reading the manuals of openwrt!
It's So Simple!

STEP BY STEP .... How to Upgrage Linksys WRT54G v3.1 4.00.7 -> Alchemy v1.0
First of all if you try to upgrade wrt54g from the version 4.00.7 to Alchemy v1.0 via the web interface ...you will find out that it's impossible!!
The solution is to download WRT54GV3.0_3.03.6_US_code.bin ( »ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network/ )and upload it to your V3.1 4.00.7 version of Linksys firmware which ships with the product.
After that when you will have changed to version 3.03.6 you will be able to upload Alchemy_V1.0.bin via the web interface!

If something goes wrong (as always!) and your Linksys WRT54G v3.1 seems to be DEAD (as mine a few hours ago!) DONT'T PANIC! You just need openwrt-wrt54g-squashfs.bin ( »downloads.openwrt.org/people/nbd···russian/ )
So if you see that the Power green led blinks like crazy.. just reboot Linksys and run from dos prompt:
tftp -i 192.168.1.1 put openwrt-wrt54g-squashfs.bin
Maybe you'll need to do that 2, 3 times.. It'll work!! Just reboot again the Linksys and then do..
telnet 192.168.1.1
The next step is to enable boot_wait .. so.... write....
nvram set boot_wait=on
nvram get boot_wait
nvram commit
that all folks.. Close the TV and go to sleep!.. Yes you are ready now to upgrade you Linksys with the WRT54GV3.1_4.00.7_US_code.bin file!!!
Reboot Linksys and write...
tftp -i 192.168.1.1 put WRT54GV3.1_4.00.7_US_code.bin
(try 2,3 times if didn't work at the first time!)
then go to the procedure reading the begining of this email! »192.168.1.1 .... bla bla bla!!!
Just rememeber that during these procedure you must have your linksys connected to your pc via utp cable and your pc should have ip:192.168.1.2 gateway 255.255.255.0

Denmark | Thanks for the ideas until now. But it doesn't help.
When a try to upload the firmware: openwrt-wrt54g-squashfs. I get a time out. I have tried 10 times or more.
Any other suggestion? |

600004 | try reflashing the firmware with a hard wired computer only.then do a reset,and then see what happens.if its still not working call linksys the warrenty for this router is 3 years i guess. |
