Think of all the meetings and testing and purchasing and rollouts and complaints that are going to go on.

That will go on no matter what, when, how, where or why...and I'm going to venture a guess...that the same thing will happen with G5s that happened with the G4 OS X only boot machines....they will continue to make them (G5s) for well after the switch to accommodate the "WAY late to the party" vendors like QuarkXPress.

then switch the consumer/students... It's the low-end Intel processors that will be ready first, per the roadmap; and it's the low-end PowerPC processors -- the G4s -- that are more urgently in need of replacement. As I understand it, Intel is not yet ready to beat the G5. |
