said by Thinkdiff :I believe steve said consumer machines first (iMac, iBook, eMac) then all laptops, and then pro machines. Could be wrong though. I would have figured the reverse.....get the Pros their machines first so they can get the apps out faster....then switch the consumer/students...
We'll see what we'll see though...
Just made the last payment on my G5 so ready for a new one.... -- Wanna pay $4.00 for a head of lettuce? $5.00 for a quart of strawberries? Double the price of your beef, chicken and pork? Close the borders and that is EXACTLY what will happen! Think about it....Vicente Fox was RIGHT. Could have worded it different tho |

Think of all the meetings and testing and purchasing and rollouts and complaints that are going to go on. -- You're so vain... I bet you think this post is about you. |

That will go on no matter what, when, how, where or why...and I'm going to venture a guess...that the same thing will happen with G5s that happened with the G4 OS X only boot machines....they will continue to make them (G5s) for well after the switch to accommodate the "WAY late to the party" vendors like QuarkXPress. -- Wanna pay $4.00 for a head of lettuce? $5.00 for a quart of strawberries? then switch the consumer/students... It's the low-end Intel processors that will be ready first, per the roadmap; and it's the low-end PowerPC processors -- the G4s -- that are more urgently in need of replacement. As I understand it, Intel is not yet ready to beat the G5. |
