Re: [General] WRT54G v3 wireless PC to local wired

said by davevdg See Profile :

I have a WRT54G v3 router running firmware version 3.03.6.
I have cable modem for internet access.
4 PC's are networked through the router.
2 laptops are wireless
2 desktops are wired.

I have no network performace problems from any of the PC's, which are all running WinXP, except for the following:
When a wireless PC attempts to communicate (transfer files) to/from a wired PC, there are terrible performance problems. Most of the time a simple file copy will time out.
If I plug one of the laptops into into the router and make it use a wired connection, then it can network to the desktops just fine.
Any ideas why the wired systems have trouble networking to the wireless systems?
Any settings in the router I should check?

TIA
The latest Linksys firmware as well as a couple of the others have addressed this.

I use DD-WRT - the V23 build has vast improvments in wireless performance, file transfer, etc
