It is a shell based on IE, much like AOL is. Butm it is a seperate Browser, which does NOT get good reviews by the tec savy on here. | |

If you find a web site that insists on IE6 to work properly, i.e. Windows Update, there is an extension, (available through the Tools menu), IE View 1.2.5 that opens the page in IE. There are many other extensions also that you can download and add to customize Firefox about any way you want.
So far it has been my experience that it is a faster, more secure browser than IE. When a problem is discovered it is usually fixed within a few days vs. weeks for MS to fix one. It also includes Tabbed browsing and a pretty good pop-up blocker, although occasionally one does sneak through.
I've been using both, the Firefox browser and Thunderbird e-mail for quite a while and I don't plan on going back anytime soon.  | |
