My concern is security. Is it wide open like IE or is it locked down by default like Firefox.

Some people swear by the (SBC)Yahoo Browser as others would with the AOL browser. There are several advanages such as Tabbed Browsing and better yet the ability to add free yahoo accounts to User Chooser list. Also, can skip log in.
