Same here. The 1 item that it caught on this WinXP was "Windows Restrict Anonymous". Think its a FP but will Google it later.

So far v3.0 is running good with my CounterSpy, Ad-Aware and others.

=INFO ONLY=
Outpost 3.0 released

On 26th September 2005, Agnitum released Outpost 3.0. This version includes an Anti-Spyware plugin plus an ARP (Ethernet) filtering tab for the Attack Detection plugin.

Following is a list of new features:

•Real-time spyware protection monitors and blocks every attempt by malware to harm your computer.
•Spyware On-Demand Scanner lets you check your system for spyware threats to identify and remove them from your computer.
•ID Block prevents specific personal data leaks from occurring on your computer.
•Attack Detection plug-in now detects and averts particular Ethernet attacks such as IP spoofing, ARP scanning, ARP flood and others, protecting your system from invasions on a local network and more Internet attacks providing even more solid protection against external threats.
•Improved Component Control monitors the more vulnerable locations and files to decrease the number of pop-up prompts that demand your attention.
•The Smart Advisor provides additional information on each Outpost Firewall Pro event and gives recommendations so users are more confident in their decisions.
•New Startup Wizard allows performing quick initial configuration of Outpost Firewall Pro after installation.
•Our feedback service lets you report Outpost Firewall Pro security issues to our support service directly from the program.
Following is a list of issues that were fixed (only major listed):
•'Allow/Block Once' commands logic was changed. All data from specified local ports to specified remote ports and addresses is allowed/blocked during a single communication.
•Subnet mask and wildcards ('*') can be correctly used in editing dialogs for IP address lists.
•Rules creation for FTP DATA is fixed. If your computer was set up as an [*]Internet Connection Sharing gateway, access to FTP servers could have been blocked if using FTP active mode.
Please also review the Outpost 3.0 - What to expect thread for upgrade/install recommendations and other known issues.

Known Issues:

1. Large Hosts files may result in Outpost seeming to hang (5-10 minutes typically for a file with 15,000 entries) during the initial scan by the Anti-Spyware plugin. ...
Wow, I wonder what kind of crunching that software does with a large HOSTS file.

Was having trouble with ZAP Version 6. So I downloaded Agnitum. Appears pretty good. The license is for 1 year. What happens after a year? The Firewall stops working?

Has anyone noticed if the new version is backwards compatible with the plugins? I'm currently using WhoEasy, Blockpost, and Super Stealth. Anyone upgrade yet who uses these plugins and can report on the functionality?

After installing you should also manually click Tools/Agnitum Update. I think there is an update for the anti-spyware. Well it seems to be updating it anyway for me as after some small download there was popup about it updated the anti-spyware.

The anti-spyware signature database now stated as 16067 and dated 9/26/2005

Not sure default install was.

capdjq,
The firewall will continue to work. You have to pay a yearly fee only for future upgrades and support. »agnitum.com/support/kb/article.p···&lang=en

Bleh... is the simple old rules based firewall all but gone?
I'm using OP Pro v2.1, and by the looks of things, I'll be staying with that for quite a while.

Don't want/need any plugins (particualry spyware).

Ah well...

dTerminehtor, you may want to upgrade to a newer version
for better protection, you can always dis-able to plug-ins you don't want or need

Behind a router, so my firewall isn't my primary level of protection.

I've upgraded to 2.5, 2.6 and tried 2.7...but found each version lacking... despite disabling the plugins (particularly turning off component control, which still lead to program hangs).

Thanks though.

I ended up removing 3.0 and going back to 2.7. It wouldn't let iTunes access the web even if Allowed all was checked. Also on shutdown I would get several errors with explorer.exe. Don't know if this had anything to do with it but I happened to load the upgrade of Counterspy at the same time. Going to run CS for awhile then try Outpost on next update.

Reverted back to good old 2.7 also.:(

Nothing happened when I wanted to update the antispyware definitions.

Will keep an eye on the OP forum for any info.

Running like the champ that it is here. Spyware updates without a problem. Any prg that I want to get out, gets out.
Don't know why there are so many ppl with problems. Perhaps they didn't uninstall the earlier version. I don't know, I just don't know.:(
