Modem logs and what they mean?

Just as soon as we got through this past month of horrendous pings and slow speeds, everything started looking good again.

Until today.

Every few minutes the Receive light on my Surfboard 4100 go out, then after a few seconds like that, the whole modem restarts.
Once or twice while it is doing this, my TV service has even went out.
When this started happening I looked at my Logs, and saw some stuff I don't remember seeing before.

050927133210 3-Critical H501.4 HFC: LOST TRC SYNC- trying to recover
050927133210 7-Information H501.12 HFC: FEC LOCK recovery OK
050927133210 7-Information H501.15 HFC:FEC LOCK recovery OK

050927133206 7-Information H501.12 HFC: FEC LOCK recovery OK
050927133206 7-Information H501.15 HFC:FEC LOCK recovery OK
050927133206 3-Critical H501.16 HFC: FEC LOCK recovery failed
050927133205 3-Critical H501.16 HFC: FEC LOCK recovery failed
050927133201 3-Critical H501.4 HFC: LOST TRC SYNC- trying to recover

It just repeats that over and over and over.
The 3-Critical kinda freaks me out a little bit, is this cable problems down the road or what?

Re: Modem logs and what they mean?

Likely is a problem with your signal levels. This could be internal to your home or external. Can you post your downstream, upstream and snr levels?

Re: Modem logs and what they mean?

My internet hasn't cut out again to my knowledge but my pings are sky high again like almost everyone in NC and upstate SC.

Signal to Noise Ratio 36 dB
QAM 256
Network Access Control Object ON
Power Level -6 dBmV
The Downstream Power Level reading is a snapshot taken at the time this page was requested. Please Reload/Refresh this Page for a new reading

Upstream Value
Channel ID 4
Frequency 31984000 Hz Ranged
Ranging Service ID 415
Symbol Rate 2.560 Msym/s
Power Level 49 dBmV

Those are decent levels. Something else to try is to record those levels and check them every now and then to see if they are fluctuating. Anything more than a 3dB change +/- is probably too much and can cause intermitent service when it happens.
