| Azureus NAT Error
Yes, I've seen this thread before anyone asks: »I'm in Hell - ports good - Azureus NAT Error Help!
My problem is that I don't have a router to open/close ports with. I'm running off a Wireless-G PCI Adapter I bought from Best Buy a while ago, so I can't get to any router to change anything. I've tried adding the 6881 TCP and UDP ports to my Windows Firewall exceptions, but that doesn't work. Any tips or recommendations? I really would like for my download speeds to exceed 20-40 kbps. |

2 edits | well, first of all...if you are running off a wireless network, then you need a wireless router. You can change settings of the wireless router from a wirelessly connected device.
Secondly, have you tried using it briefly without windows firewall to see if windows firewall is indeed the problem? I've never trusted windows firewall as it's not a real strong firewall to have...you should look into getting something else such as zone alarm. -- when will the madness end |

So are you saying I should change the ports from my base station? I am connected on an Apple Airport Extreme network. Maybe it has something to do with that? |

Have you given Javaw.exe both Internet and Server permissions in Zone Alarm? |

Okay, I'll have to get my parent's permission, then I'll try it out. Thanks for the help up to now. |

| Read this AzureusWiki page. Zone Alarm is one of the firewalls that doesn't like bit torrents.

I would suggest Sygate. YOu can get it free also and I never have probs with it. |

I've never had problems with Zone Alarm when I was using Azureus, and I don't have problems with the client I'm using now, and I've been using Zone Alarm since version 5.0, now using version 6.0. Unless such problems don't occur with the free version, or I'm just lucky, but then my nephew also uses it with absolutely no problems. |

| reply to leDoOd I don't really want to uninstall a program that cost me $50 that seems to be working well for everything else besides Azureus based on one man's opinion.
Does anyone know how to access and change ports on a Mac with an Airport Extreme base station? I'll post this in another forum if no one can answer. |
