Re: [scam] Digital Age, KCSOFTLLC and Coastal Wave Internet

Looks like the previous posts are old but I just got hit with $24.99 from Cyprus Digital Age on 9/19/05 and there is only part of an 888 number. I am disputing this with the bank but they say this transaction is something I signed for! I knew it had to be bogus transaction. Anyone else had this recently??

Does 09-24-2005 count as recent as my post above shows?

Then a $24.99 charge from:

Digital Age
Cypress

I also was hit with this charge
CHECKCARD 0918 DIGITAL AGE 888-529-98 CYPRUS
for $24.99 on 9/19/2005. My card was blocked by my Bank and they sent me a new card. Thanks for these posts. It was great having this evidence when I spoke to the fraud specialists.

Yes it does. After I posted my message I saw the more recent posts. My CU just credited my account after saying I would not get the money back!

@4.21.x.x

I was doing some on line banking and found a charge for $24.99 from...you guessed it...DIGITAL AGE 888-529-98 CYPRUS / SE. I contacted my credit union and they have cancelled my debit card for this account. I have never used this debit card for anything other than actual hands on purchases including Safeway, Albertson's and various other grocery stores / drug stores. Never for anything online. I have filled out the complaint form at the FBI web site mentioned in other posts. I'll keep watching this thread for other ideas!

Yep, just got hit with a $24.99 charge from Digital Age, Cypruss as of yesterday 10/6/05. My bank is happily taking care of this for me, but moving to a new card etc... is the real pain.

Also filed report at www.ifccfbi.gov (sometime you just gotta involve the feds...) ;-(

And on we go...

I do not have these charges. I have a Wells Fargo Visa Debit Card. I shop online at 3 million different stores and very frequently, this is not a certain store internet hack.

I was hit with a charge from Digital Age yesterday 10/7/2005 for the amount of $24.99. I spoke with my bank and as soon as it posts I have to dispute it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to all this computer stuff and have no idea what is going on.

I just got my mastercard with a 24.99 charge from digital Age in cypress sweden and another partial phone number and I have no receipt for this. My mastercard phone person was NO help at all but having read your posts I think I'll just cancel the card for safety

We recently had a charge on our credit card account from Digital Age, in Cyprus, Sweden, with the partial phone # of 888-529-98. Our credit card company notified us of this transaction before we had received our statement.

Wouldn't this be easy to trace? Where is the electronic funds transfer being deposited? In the United States?
Sweden?

edit:
October 27th, @03:57PM

The merchant account is in Sweden. The perpetrators are apparently in Cyprus, but maybe not. After the money was received into the crook's account at the merchant bank he took it out as a check or another transfer.

Stopped (by mastercard) on October 12. Don't know is they were caught or not. They were only around for about a month.

Re: [scam] Digital Age, KCSOFTLLC and Coastal Wave

I got 10/10 DIGITAL AGE 888-529-98 CYPRUS SWE 24.99
on my Chase Mastercard, which I use for everything online, so I couldn't even begin to tell you where to look. I remember Newegg.com, amazon, probably ebay, PayPal, who knows what else?

The first Chase representative emphasized again and again that I should ask my husband if he knew anything about the charge, and even said it's probably not a fraud because it's so small! I said I've been fraudulently charged before by someone who just did a little on everyone's card. When I called back after finding that hundreds of others have had the same fraudulent charge, the next representative happily cancelled the #, but pretended to know nothing about Digital Age, and said she'd be mailing an affidavit for me to fill out and have notorized. Now that I know the extent of this scam, it's *outrageous* that I should have to do ANYthing, when they know that it's a documented fraud.

I just realized that I said it was a Chase card; it was actually a Shell Citi card. Sorry, Chase!

Ah, communications.

I don't know how credit card companies work, other than not very well. But I can tell you that Mastercard shut these folks down on the 12th of October. It seems reasonable that not every rep is told about every fraud, but you would think that there would be a handy database that they could key the name in and find out.

I would tell them that this is a known fraud, that mastercard security is aware of it, and that they need to deal with this, not you. You and I pay a hell of a lot for credit card services and we ought to be getting them.
