Re: [Speed] Silver - Montgomery County

According to some of the java speed tests, I get between 7 and 8, but I've never beat about 650KB/sec download, which translates to a little over 5 Mbits/sec.

Technically, I'm supposed to get 4 Mbits/sec, not 6, because I don't have cable TV, so who's complaining?

Oh, yeah, your modem: I was getting about 2 Mbits/sec with my 4100, so rather than fighting with tech support for months about the config file, as some others on the forum have done, I ditched the 4100 and bought a cheap 5120.

I can never get any higher than 4.5 Mbps when I should be getting 6 Mbps. I've talked to Comcast and they said my modem did have the right software for 6 Mbps speeds. My modem is a SB4100.

Does anyone get 6 Mbps or above in Montgomery County?
