Not quite true. I use Citi virtual numbers all the time. You can set money & time limits. The default time is about one month, but you can choose to set the expiration to any month/year you wish.

EDIT: I stand corrected -- you can only go up to 12 months out.

Hmmm, maybe I was thinking of something else limiting on Citibanks services then. I just switched from MBNA to Citi and was a bit underwhelmed by Citi's site compared to MBNA's.
The ability to set an expiration isn't a new thing?

Another thing I didn't like was not being able to specify when my online payment should be taken from the bank - previously it was the day after I completed the process. I think now, however, you can tell it when you want the transaction to occur...

Ah, this pic was from the installed app. I think the web page version is in fact 'crippled' or at least there weren't as many options on the web as in the app the last time I looked.

I'm not sure about controlling the transaction date/time. I've never tried to do that.

I will be the first to admit Citi could do a better job on a few things with their virtual numbers, but if you break down and install the app it is not that bad.

On the Citibank website, I believe I can login and generate the number with an expire date/time. Though not 100% on that..
