| New Atheros Driver v4.1.102.1095 dated 8/25/05
Got some great news, i just found brand new Atheros driver released on 9/29/05 by IBM, driver version is 4.1.102.1095 and Dated 8/25/05.
I just found it right now, haven't installed it yet. But it should work, and if it doesn't then a quick change in inf and it will be fine.

i tried this morning, and i noticed there is no configuration appz, unless i did sometihng wrong.
any pointers? |

Great Neck, NY | IBM does not include the atheros utility, nor does this driver work with the utility anyways, used this driver in my IBM t42 and I get consistent 24Mbs with Dynamic Turbo mode. |

did any one try to install them?
i tried this morning, and i noticed there is no configuration app, unless i did something wrong. any pointers? go to the post below, d/l and install ver 71 then d/l the newer ver 102 of AR5211.sys and replace the earlier version AR5211.sys file. Use the search feature to find it in your computer.

it works. help files are included in the ver 71 setup package. Mostly the configuration is intuitive. |

Hi again!
Basically if one is already running the .71, the upgrade to .102.1095 is possible only by replacing the AR5211.sys file with the newest one, right?
(echoes) Any idea on what's new in .102.1095? |

there is also a separate directory with the drivers.
you might have to force windows to use the driver, since these driver are made for gigabyte hardware only.

Unfortunately, the IBM driver is 4.1.2.56 (hash matches the previous 4.1.2.56 SYS file) and the Gigabyte driver is 4.1.2.38 (also matching hash of 4.1.2.38 SYS file). Switching these with the 4.1.2.71 SYS file is downgrading. Thanks for the linkage though guys  |

| Two items of note: hovering the mouse over the SYS file reveals version 4.1.2.56, and secondly the hash matches the 4.1.2.56 SYS file that made its way here a month or two ago. ACU might be basing that information on the inf file which is not accurate. |

Big mixup on my part, sorry. I re-extracted from the IBM archive and indeed the hover reveals the proper version  I appreciate the clearup. |
