This type of error has been reported on many occasions on Windows 98 systems. It appears to be a transient error that is possibly resource related. Limiting what else is running on the system during a Spybot scan seems to get around the problem.

Are you running Windows 98? This might apply to updating as well.

@telus.net		 I was doing the updates and this box popped up a couple of times saying this:

access violation at address 0065391A in module SpybotSD.exe read of address 4C4994C1

Is that normal ?
