It's quite another to spend exceeding amounts of money to deliver the product. Data doesn't travel far over the meduim BPL uses. Having to install a repeater "every so many feet" just to deliver the product over a square mile isn't economical. -- :: my trivial ramblings ::

Installing repeaters along with their infrastructure is a lot cheaper than trying to build a fiber optic network over the same distances.... The bottomm line is that they don't think they can run a profitable operation with BPL.
