| What good is a subpoena?
What good would it do the **AA to subpoena your ISP if you do not supply your ISP with any personal information? I use Comcast and all my ISP knows about me is my service address, nickname, and email address. I share my wireless and I do not want to be held responsible for other people's private internet usage simply because I set up the account. Why don't more people avoid giving their full name and any other unecessary info to their ISP so that the internet can go back to being anonymous? |

| you can be traced by your service address.
plus your isp can also see what is being sent thru your line. -- KLT K++ 2.7.0 - EDONKEY LITE1.4.3.2 »www.klitetools.com/klt.html |

| I am assuming (hypothetically) that the **AA already knows copyrighted material was transferred through my IP address. However, you cannot sue a street address and multiple people live here and share this connection. Without a single person to hold responsible for the account who could be sued? Everyone? Wouldn't they still have to prove each person infringed on their copyright? |

| reply to WesF haha i have no idea what you talking about champ, but the buck always stops with one person, there is no way you gonna get a legal Internet connection with out some concrete why of getting some body who is responsible for it.
if you share a connection then somebody had to get the LAN line for all of you to share.
that person will be sued, and then if he does not like it, he can pass it onto the people using the line and sue them maybe.
but there is always one person responsible.
last time i checked comcast won't come out to the street and just install a line for Joe schmo -- KLT K++ 2.7.0 - EDONKEY LITE1.4.3.2 »www.klitetools.com/klt.html |
