That's a manipulated video guys, it's fake.
I'm subscribed to every military magazine imaginable (Jane's, SOF, Sprit de Corps) and have not heard of a jet taking off from under water. It's the superimposed image of a jet fighter on top of a submarine missile launch. |

It is real. It's a real video of a rocket launching from under the water... just without the rocket. Play the video frame by frame and you can see that the wings on this plane don't cause any disturbance in the water.

Lunch? You mean like a corned beef Rueben with onion rings and a chocolate shake?
I guess to those who hadn't seen the original video of the missile (it is old, but I've seen it many times), then maybe this might look real. But even so, plenty people have seen enough jets to know that they just don't move like that nor is their exhaust anything similar to that (unless malfunctioning). |

it is possible, however, to launch a drone this way. both the jet and prop versions, i believe. they use the initial thrust to get the package out of the water (wings are along the fuselage in an enclosed capsule) then once it's up high enough everything slows down, the capsule sheath falls away, the wings either scissor out or swing out and it glides till the engine turns over. the booster portion falls back into the ocean.
there are ways to launch more fragile longer use drones from the deck of both small ships and subs. |

Imagine if this was true...... the possiblities... aircraft-carrying submarines able to sneak up on a country's coast and bomb them, a "take-out" aquatic air force.
The only problem would be where in incarnation are the damn jets going to land after a mission?  |

Me , one that has worked on F-15's (A&B,C&D,and E modle)
Yes it's chopped ,and no such us AirCraft ,save the cockpit ,of an A-10 would never survive such a violent launch.Pretty cool tho. |
