SpeedStreamStats v2.0.7

Hi Guys,

For those who have been pondering on the SpeedStreamStats utility, there's good news. A new version, v2.0.7 is available which appears to have additions buttons (additional functionalities too?).

Grab it @ »80.127.153.164/SpeedStreamStats207.zip

Furthermore, when I tried the teledat330stats utility, it didn't report correctly though it was able to detect my CPE. But with this speedstreamstats v2.0.7, even with my totally customized CPE configuration, it can detect its presence, as well as all the stats.

Please refer to the screenshots...

This utility is like the other one as it also shows SBCStats.exe as the original Filename.

The Teledat one dun work for me as I am not using the CPE's default lan ip address, and I have heavily customized the configuration, thus the Teledat one cannot properly 'read' the CPE stats.

However, this v2.0.7 works fine even without changing anything on my CPE.

Is there a "Help Manual" available?
Meaning of SNRR, SNRC, Button ="Get DSL Bins" , etc.
How does it get the Train Rates?

No, just the EXE file.

Signal to Noise Ratio.

SNR (R - Remote) SNR (C - Central Office)

Bins = Binary bits per DSL tone. G.DMT DSL is Discrete Multi Tone that uses up to the allotted 256 tones to carry the ADSL signals. Not supported in all Firmwares and may report zeros (all 0s)

The first 32 bins (aka tones) are for download out of a total of 256 bins (aka tones) that are potentially usable.

It uses SNMP and FTP.

Doesn't work on SBC products 5100b or 4100 according to this thread titled " »New Modem Tool " as the SNMP server is disabled by Efficient at SBC's request during the setup of the custom firmware.

For some reason, it also does not work with 4100's running 004-D240-A2X firmware

What are accepable Signal-to-Noise Ratio?

»AT&T Southeast Forum FAQ »How do I check modem stats & event logs? What do the numbers mean?
quote:
Below are some of the common terms and measurements used to judge line quality. Remember these are not hard numbers but simply a generalization of line statistics:

SN Margin (AKA Signal to Noise Margin or Signal to Noise Ratio)
Relative strength of the DSL signal to Noise ratio. 6dB is the lowest dB manufactures specify for modem to be able to synch. In some instances interleaving can help raise the noise margin to an acceptable level. The higher the number the better for this measurement.
6dB or below is bad and will experience no synch or intermittent synch problems
7dB-10dB is fair but does not leave much room for variances in conditions
11dB-20dB is good with no synch problems
20dB-28dB is excellent
29dB or above is outstanding

Line Attenuation
Measure of how much the signal has degraded between the DSLAM and the modem. Maximum signal loss recommendation is usually about 60dB. The lower the dB the better for this measurement.
20dB and below is outstanding
20dB-30dB is excellent
30dB-40dB is very good
40dB-50dB is good
50dB-60dB is poor and may experience connectivity issues
60dB or above is bad and will experience connectivity issues

Must be the different chipsets, T/I AR5 & AR7

AR5 : E141 (5100), E240 (5200)
AR7 : D240 (4100/4200), E242(5200)
