DI-524 'Randomly' Rebooting

I have a DI-524 and it "randomly" reboots a few times a day, cutting me off from Xbox Live, MSN, and various other "always on" services.
I've Googled and checked these support forums, but I could not find a solution.
I'm using the most current firmware (3.2) on revision C.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you seen the FAQ? It has suggestions about this.

Right...

There aren't too many connections. It reboots in the middle of the day with only Trillian running.
My router has plenty of ventilation and is upright with the antenna pointing straight up, away from the router itself.
I don't know about the AC adapter...
There are no fans or other wireless electronics interfering, I know this for sure..
I'll try turning down the wireless transmit power to 50% and tried plugging the AC adapter into another socket. Hope it helps.

Thanks for your time.

disable gaming mode
disable VPN passthrough for IPSEC and PTPP
block ping from wan side
Change SSID
Change channel
Disable any wireless or enable MAC filtering if you want some sort of security
Lower MTU settings to 1452

but if it's happening ONCE in awhile it's not bad.. if it happens A LOT like every 5 minutes.. the steps above need to be implemented.. and besides.. even if it disconnects.. it is really fast and you'll get "disconnected" but not for long if your software knows how to autoconnect

.. the steps above need to be implemented..
I disagree that the things you listed are necessary to prevent reboots, but they are things that couldn't hurt to try.

A couple of specific notes:

- disable gaming mode

... is actually likely to cause more overloads/overheats, not less. This is because Gaming Mode is the same "SPI disabled." SPI uses more overhead, so Gaming Mode = On is less stress.

- enable MAC filtering if you want some sort of security

... This is unlikely to help you in the reboot department. If you do this, also know that MAC filtering is a very poor security measure. It will only keep the dumbest of neighbors out. This is because MAC addresses are very easily monitored and cloned/faked. MAC filtering only provides filtering and no encryption. To put it in security terms, it is similar to putting a combination lock on a glass box and writing the combination somewhere on the inside.

Ok.. The stuff I listed above didn't help.

I disabled the VPN pass-through (which, even after reading the FAQ on it, am still not sure what it is.
Blocked incoming pings on WAN.
Changed the SSID and the channel...
I've left the MTU at 1500 and Gaming Mode on.

Hopefully this finally resolves this annoyance.

Thanks again for your time.

It's just a buggy firmware issue. I had the same thing with firmware version 3.20 for the DI-524 Rev. C.

Downgrade to 3.02 and your reboot problems will likely go away (it did for me). Just don't use MAC filtering as that's broken in 3.02.
