One of the guys I worked with at Hughes Aircraft went on to either found or work at MWK.....been a long time, so I don't remember which. Nice place!

Fry's is good. It's not often you find a brick & morter retail store anymore where you can walk in and find a selections of IC's and small fix-it parts. (Radio Shacks small selection excluded.)
Here in the Chicagoland area we had our first Fry's open up and it is a cool place.

 If we're talking local places, I *always* go to Torrance Electronics on Carson Street first. Not big on computer stuff, except for any kind of cable or adapter you'd ever need, but TONS of other stuff, including tubes.
