RF Parts is really good for hard-to-get / obsolete parts.

Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.

For our Canadian residents:

»www.e-sonic.com/acc/home.aspx (the biggest one of them all!)
»www.sayal.com/ (lots of surplus parts, used test gear)
»www.futureestore.com/estore/Default.aspx (an international company with several stores in Canada)

It's in the Forum Links section to the left of the page and will eventually be included in a FAQ section for the forum.

Gee-all of these people asking to have this thread stickied and nothing is getting done.I just came across this topic and I was wondering how far does this board go back?
Maybe I should get the old web stripper out.(Keeps the links alive as opposed to just copying)

EDIT-The oldest post I see is from 10-04-05

Hmmmm....maybe we could get this into a FAQ or make it a sticky??
I totally agree...!!! Reference to this kind of info is needed all the time...
I concur, it would be most useful.

If we're talking local places, I *always* go to Torrance Electronics on Carson Street first. Not big on computer stuff, except for any kind of cable or adapter you'd ever need, but TONS of other stuff, including tubes.
Great people, great prices!

Fry's
Fry's is good. It's not often you find a brick & morter retail store anymore where you can walk in and find a selections of IC's and small fix-it parts. (Radio Shacks small selection excluded.)
Here in the Chicagoland area we had our first Fry's open up and it is a cool place.
