When I make phone calls on my Galaxy Voice service with a Sipura SPA-1001 I have static. Now can I change the compression on it to reduce the static? Right now its using G711u. |

| I am also having problems with quality with GalaxyVoice... You should be able to login to your sipura box and update your codec. Try calling galaxy support - they should be able to help you. In my case sifferent codecs did not improve the quality unfortunately... |

| Also make sure your telephone isn't the cause of the static. In my experience, static is not a problem with voip. The problems are mainly garbled sound, cutting in and out etc, but not static. I just set my mother up with voip and there was static on the line. It turned out to be a bad wire to the telephone.... |

| reply to Jasper1970 There is usually no static on a digital voice line such as VOIP. Are you taling about garbled audio ? If you mean real static then it is likey your wiring you have from the adapter to your telephones. Check the copper. -- Visit my site @ www.n9dvd.com |

I'll concur that static is not introduced by VOIP technology. VOIP has problems, but static isn't one of them! OP should disconnect (unplug from electricity) all cordless phones in the house, use only corded phones (replacing all cords if necessary) and will likely see static go away. |
