Wow is all I have to say. Anyone who does a bit of research on voip before purchasing it through Patmedia will find that their prices are not only totally disproprotionate to whats out there, but their services arent comparable. And at those prices, paying extra for voicemail???? whats that about?? Im quite happy with my voicepulse. Less then $20 a month, 2 lines, handles everything I need including faxing and long distance, plus the online options cant be beat. Sorry patmedia.... Need to be way more competative in the voip market if you expect to get people who are relatively educated on this technology to choose your service. |

| reply to sokhapkin I think to be fair, patriot will sell their service, because people will not be educated to look elsewhere, it will be a one price/bill per month and any issues that are seen will be dealt with by patriot. People who are on this forum represent a very small group who know a little about what they are doing and so of course will shop elsewhere. I love my Vonage, it works great and is soooo much cheaper than a land line |

Either way, VoIP is about 40Kb/s and has not made a huge impact on my network. In fact, majority of my slow down is due to patmedia itself. |

| reply to WorkinClsDog said by WorkinClsDog :I must say I'm very surprised by the price points and the Int'l Rates when compared to alternatives. Even the use of the "Triple Play" language is a surprise on their website » www.patmedia.net/patriot/Digital···eet.html - that's Cablevision's branding. I'd say their pricing is almost 50% more compared to Cablevision's Triple Play, at least for the standard digital deal.
I'm not so sure I'd classify this as much of a deal. Sure, it's conveniently on one bill ... not seeing much savings though. -- Chilly likes it |
