[Equipment] Asterisk with PSTN

Guys,

I've recently set-up an asterisk box behind a Cisco PIX box with port forwarding... etc. I've managed to get this working correctly, and with the thanks of a user leaving a message on the answerphone:
»[General] New VoIP server setup, need testers...

I'm now interested in setting up PSTN integration on the box. Do you guys know anything about this? There will be a line coming in from BT (British Telecom here in the UK) that will be one number from the PSTN, but have 6 lines to be used at once.

I'm very new to VoIP/Asterisk/PSTN systems - so it's a first for me. Any help would be most appreciated, and information regarding what hardward I need to purchase?

Re: [Equipment] Asterisk with PSTN

just to give you a clue and start you off (because it is not quite clear what you mean by a 'line' plus I am not big expert)

you will need something from here »store.digium.com/products.php?category_id=1

every physical analog line coming in requires one FXO module and if you have some old analog phones that you want to hook up to asterix, you will need one FXS module for each (if your phones are all voip ones, you need just those FXO modules)

one of digium's cards holds up to four modules meaning you would need two of them for six lines

you likely will want this model »store.digium.com/product_view.ph···=RTDM04B
don't let it bother you that the picture shows 2FXS/2FXO modules, they use one picture for all configurations

there are cards for when you have T1 line coming in but don't think that's your case
