I like these two sites for learning about electricity and electronics since I am still learning. »www.bcae1.com is presented as car audio electronics but he is very broad in his scope and has much detail with clear explanations. Kudos to the site even though I am okay with the stock radio in my Ford Escort. I also like »www.falstad.com/circuit/ -- Simple rules - no offsides, no intent to maim, everything else is all good! |

I saw this site »www.allaboutcircuits.com/l_sitemap.html and thought it might be of use to the forum readers, maybe even the FAQ.

Just finished a job and used Advanced Circuits »www.4pcb.com/. Prices are in line with other suppliers.
They have a free schematic capture and layout software called PCB Artist which did a great job. |

| reply to Macy How to get help
I 'm wondering if it wouldn't be useful to have a FAQ or sticky indicating how to ask for help. We've all done it. You're thinking about something and it 's quite obvious in your mind and when you ask someone about it, you subconsciously assume they know what you know. It's even worse when you are posting because you don't have that immediate feedback of a face to face conversation.
There are a lot of good people here willing to help but many times prevented by lack of information.

Something along the lines of:
Please try to answer the following questions about your project, if you're looking for help • Type? (Repair, Project, Upgrade, etc.) • Class? (AC / DC / HV etc.) • Experience? (Newbie, Armchair Experimenter, Engineer, God) • Category? (Lighting, Power, Radio, Computer, etc.) • Project? (List your goal of what you want to see happen) • Final question? (What information are you looking to find out?)
I know thats a bit of a list, and It can probably be shortened, or even eliminated for some cases, But maybe a suggestion about posting as much of that info as possible to the original poster would help us all "hone-in" on exactly the info we can offer that would be tho most help to the original poster..
Just a thought..
