I live in Washington Indiana...(South Western Indiana) and I currently have Charter Communications. They have been my provider for about 10 years. When they came in they upgraded the whole town to fiber optic cable before some of the largeer cities around me even were upgraded. Now they are reorganizing the company....and selling off their rural assets. The area I live in is one of those areas. I figured Insight would probably buy the services because they provide services in Evansville which is about 50 miles south of me and in other towns in my area. Then I heard about the Comcast situation. I was recently down at my brothers house in Jeffersonville Indiana near Louisville. We went to a hh Gregg store in a nearby town and the sales person told me that he heard Comcast was buying Insight. I am wondering if Comcast does buy Insight if Comcast will buy the Charter services in my area. Also I have been seeing a lot if Comcastic commercials lately too...And they don't provide any services any where near where I live...

I smell an Insight sale to Comcast coming. However, I have no solid facts on that tonight.

Consolidation isn't unheard of - but we have been hearing this speculation for years. Then again taking the company private could be the way for a limited number of people to maximize their profit from such a sale. These two companies have had what seems to be a cozy relationship in the past. But I would have thought that a sale would have taken place by now if it was in the works.

The thing is with Insight being private now, it will take months before anything comes out about it.

Looks like we may have the answer for some of the Charter customers and the answer didn't turn out to be Insight.

I wouldnt hold your breath on an Insight buyout, they've been shedding markets not picking them up.

It would make sense that inisght would buy them they have a lot of service areas around here but ive heard rumors about Comcast buying Insight.....I did see a Comcast truck in my area the other day and the closest comcast system is like 250 miles away....

And we have still yet to hear the results of what went down with the contract between them and comcast at the end of last year. For all we know right Comcast could be pulling out leaving insight with not nearly enough subscribers to turn a profit much less, absorb another system.

Comcast already decided to pull out, Its just a matter of time before they strike a deal. I have been told by several Comcast employees as well as other employees of cable systems that Comcast in mainly interested in systems in northern Indiana and Illinois. Hence why i think Insight will buy Charter Indiana, too make up for whatever lose they have post Comcast

well Comcast provides services in northern Indiana. But, in southern indiana its pretty well charter or insight...and in a few cases Time warner. Around here its mainly insight...just charter in a few areas.

That is why i think Comcast will want Insight- Kokomo, Nobesville, Anderson, Etc. Etc. I don't think Comcast will be interested in anything south of Indy......

Well if they buy insight they will get a lot of systems south of Indy. and since charter systems are for sale that are only 20 miles away from insight systems i kinda figured either comcast or insight would buy them

Exactly, there are not many companies south of Indy. I believe there are only insight, comcast, and
charter. So if Charter is selling then its a 50/50 shoot
