I don't have the stats here to back it up, but IIRC most of the worms exploited security holes that already had patches available to plug them up. It doesn't matter how quickly you patch your security holes if your users don't implement the patches.

Yea, that's why I make sure my friends have Windows firewall or any other firewall products up. Because it'll take them forever to download the patches on dial-up! LOL!
