Weather1?

Anyone here try weather1 before? If so how is it? »www.weather1.com

I know you have to pay for it but it's OK. I know there are other programs out there and I'm not concerned about them just about weather1.

Can't know until you try. So I just downloaded and installed it. At first it seemed great as it went into extreme detail with weather, and I need a replacement for Weather Channel's Desktop Weather because it constantly freezes. Just started my normal browsing, websites are loading slowly, programs are freezing. This program is a resource hog. Everything returned to normal when I shut it down and uninstalled.

I just downloaded Weather1 and installed it. I find that it uses alot less system resources, compared to WeatherXpress or WeatherPulse: Weather1 uses 7000+ K, WeatherXpress runs at 18,000+ K, and WeatherPulse is hogging 22,900+ K when I pull up the Windows Task Manager. So you certainly can't call it a hog, by any means!

Configuration is another story altogether. It took the better part of half an hour to get it properly configured, so it's not what I'd call "quick and easy" to set up. Once it's finished though, it runs quite nicely. I would prefer the option to "bold" the temperature icon; being infected with the "over fifty" virus makes finding and reading the icon a bit difficult.

I own and use WeatherXpress 2000 and find it to be an excellent weather program. Might want to take a look at it too, if you're looking to purchase a good weather program.

I have to say that Weather1 is rather a nice program, and if I didn't own WeatherXpress, I would have to take a good look at it as a purchase.

EDIT: Oh, if you're looking for a free weather program, you can't beat WeatherPulse! Excellent software, and it has just about anything you can ask from a weather program. The latest version is by far the best update to come from Tropic Designs.

For me Weather1 used about 10-30% of system usage, slowed my computer down, and used 22,200K.

I used to use it a few years ago but it was very buggy on my Win98SE machine. Also, it seemed as though every time an upgrade was out (few times a year), the author would want additional money.

The missus uses it and finds it offers more than any of the other programs she's come across, but...

1) Heavy learning curve

2) Frequently buggy.

That said, she just won't get rid of it. Like it too much. But I just spoke with her, thought there was a trial or lite version of it.
