Re: textmode - bugs reports and suggestions topic

Had another BB user that also frequents this site try and he had the same error using a different model BlackBerry. Anything we can post that might help isolate the issue?

I don't know.. but my blackberry stays logged in.
The link definitely sets a persistent cookie.
If it is a bug, then it is some bug with the blackberry browser, I think.

Treo 650, Blazer and Opera Mini, Fido GPRS

Thank you.

I think that's the major part of it. No other site on the net that I have stumbled across has made it's content and community so available on-line as BBR, and none of them have managed to make the sheer amount of content accessible in a easy way. The text mode of dslreports.com probably one of three things that really makes my data plan worth holding on to. E-mail, dslreports, and maps/directions.

Beyond that. Everything formats nice in Blazer, perfectly fits the screen and is legible. Request moving the page numbers to the bottom of the thread so I don't have to scroll up to go to the next page? Or is that just how Blazer is parsing your CSS.

You don't even want to know how /.'s new style-sheet renders in blazer ;p

I missed that there was a response to the cookie issue on the BB. Since the end of last week, I don't think I have been logged out. I definitely changed nothing on my end including how I interact with the BB. Only thing I can think of, though it has been this way before and after the issue, is I am logged in from home, from the office, and then from the BB. It happened almost every time I went to DSLR from the BB though.

Maybe sun spots.

If you are logged in too many times, from too many places and on too many domains, it starts to kill older logins. Perhaps that was what was happening?

it's a possibility but it was happening in the same train ride home so I don't think it should have been the case other then the 1st time I accessed it.

Anyway, it seems to be working now. I actually thought you must have changed something.

2 requests:
When replying can we be redirected to the forum we're in instead of the home page?
Could it be possible add a "last page/topic" link to the "all post" view. The "u" works great when the topic has been updated, if not one needs to click on the topic just to get to the end (can end up being a pain with the longer topics).

I think both those requests are worthwhile. For the first one, either return to the thread/post or to the forum or if you can tell HOW we got to the thread we posted (forum view or postlist) return to that.

i know it's not really a bug. on some other forums, they add to the post info on what mobile device your using. it might help increase visits to the text site.

Actually yeah, I could second that. I've sometimes had to hold back "and I'm posting from my treo right now" because it's just pretentious for me to have that in a reply. But sometimes I wanted to let other people know how our interaction was being conducted.

I noticed on the ride home today that IM's had pre-populated with some text about being mobile, but I didn't pay attention.

But thats too broad don't you think?

I could be mobile with my laptop in Starbucks.. IMHO it should say something about being posted on a mobile device.

Viewing this thread on my PocketPC. The post I think by lilhurricane has 2 images. I see the att=x codes displayed and the images follow at the end post. Not sure if that is what was intended.
