[Help] True Image Incremental BU question

I tried a TI incremental backup yesterday instead of a full (as recommended by their wizard). It made a second file which kind of surprised me. I thought it would append or update the original file.

My first full backup file
30.0 GB name HD.tib
My incremental backup file
2.5 GB name HD2.tib

Does this look right? TIA

It always makes a seperate file for incremental backups
And yes, that does look right.

As stated above, your experience is normal when using TI.

fegul and Keizer thank you for your comments. I am glad to hear this assurance from experienced users. Ya, the incremental step is sure a time saver. The big question- does it resore OK? That is the next step. I am going to do a test restore to a test computer HD. I love the TI interface.

Just be sure to verify every backup you create.... I've never had a verified image fail (version 8).

Hey Howie, thanks for this tip. [I assume] you perform that step manually by Tools > Check Image. (In Windows NT backup there is an option to automatically "Verify Data." I see no check box option in TI Vers. 8 Build 768)

Edit- I just ran a test image and verified it successfully. I will include that step from now on... and do an occassional restore as well. Thanks

[EDIT] Yes, I verify the image immediately after creating one.

I used to trust TI to a point where I never verified... until just recently, when I had a bad image and had to start from scratch. Now I verify every image, both full and incremental, just to be on the safe side.

[EDIT] Yes, I verify an image immediately after creating it.
I think version 9 will verify and image in one step. (I uninstalled 9 until they get the bugs worked out.)
