I dont even have a triple play available. (i have cable internet and tv bundled) For those with cable cos offering phone service, how reliable is it, and do they do it as well as a traditional phone company?
Digital phone is just as reliable and in my opinion MUCH better than classic POTS. The days of static in the lines has gone, turn around on orders is faster, often immediate if you want to add a feature, and the price is generally cheaper - at least in my area. When the power goes off, we still have service since our system is powered by the network.

Many areas that offer digital phone are required by regulators to offer a system with 99.99% uptime which in turn makes the cable TV and internet that much more reliable as well.

Usually if something goes wrong, it's with the RSU equipment on the outside of the house - they can go bad from time to time, or the inside wiring.
