Portable programs; Apps on the flash drive

I havent seen many threads about this kind of thing, so I thought I might make a thread so we could discuss it.

How many of you have flash drives and what do you run on them?

So far I've got;
Putty
Opera (still working out the bugs)
Portable firefox (though its a little slow)
Maxthon
UltraVNC viewer
VLC
Portable NVU
Portable Abiword
Notepad2
Explorer XP
Pest Patrol (has some issues though)
Antivir
Ewido
Cool player
Hijackthis

My drive is also U3 compatible so I can also run Migo which can sync user information on the flash drive for use elsewhere.

Here's a link for a bunch of portable programs you guys can browse; »www.portablefreeware.com/ I'll post some more sites later

Thanks for this post, don't have any portable programs on my flash drive but I do carry arround several installers of various applications in the event that I need them when I go somewhere. I'll have to try portable freeware in the future.

Chaos Manager V2.19. Have yet to upgrade to V2.20 because I'm reluctant to reenter all my info. I've found Chaos Manager to be very useful and it's even password protected. Just downloaded a few games for the thumb drive like Megamario, vectoroids, and Scorched3D but haven't tried them yet.

Here's a pic of the U3 interface, it has an icon in the tray that you click on to open its "start" menu
The AV is powered by Mcafee, and updates itself

Wow, I'm surprised virtually no one uses programs off the flash drive!! I use lots of computers, so I need some way to centralize my stuff!

I use Portable Firefox and Notepad2 for my web design / browsing at school. Works very well. I also carry around a handful of installers, drivers, and chipset detectors for when doing reinstalls on people's computers

CyberShredder and KeePass are two major ones I have.

I'm still thinking of the best programs to put on; with the lowest rewrite demand possible to prolong my USB key's life.

I never made the connection between a flash drive & application portability. I put anything & everything on them.
Backups & media files are good choices. I keep the media players on them too. USB 2.0 works as advertised.
Thanks to this thread I even got a browser on one now.
ps that portable FF is bitchin' fast
