| [Vonage] I got a Question about Vonage and the PAP2
I was able to unlock a PAP2 and set it up properly with stanaphone on Line 1 and Voipbuster on Line 2. I am currently a Vonage customer and was wondering if I could replace my existing Vonage given VoIP adapter with this PAP2 and still keep it unlocked for use with Voipbuster on the second line. So basically I want Vonage on Line 1 and any other service I like on Line 2. Is this doable? |

| NO. In order to use Vonage on any PAP, the PAP must be locked to vonage. Vonage will automatically LOCK it once you set it up to work with vonage. Once they lock it, they have complete control of your adapter, and they will not let you use line 2, or even reset your adapter. |

2 edits | I disagree and suspect it is doable provided you unlock your PAP2 first before provisioning it to Vonage and obtain your GPP_K key.
Once you have your GPP_K key, you can grab your UPDATE 1 (i.e. INITIAL UPDATE) XML file, decrypt it w/ the factory fresh GPP_K key and obtain your Vonage provisioned Admin PW.
Once you have your Vonage provisioned Admin PW, you should be able to safely switch your Vonage Service over to your PAP2, wait for it to provision (i.e. enable AUTO-PROVISIONING), and then after it's been provisioned, re-enable its Web Interface via the IVR (i.e. **** 7932# followed by your Vonage provisioned Admin PW).
Once the Web Interface has been re-enabled, you should then be able to login as "admin" (using the Vonage provisioned Admin PW), TURN OFF PROVISIONING (so that Vonage doesn't re-lock your adapter), and access LINE 2 to do as you please.
The above is only a theory. I'm not a Vonage customer, so I can't test this.

| reply to xboxerxbox I'll try to find it if I can (since I read it before I saw this thread), but I think I read that someone did this and was notified by Vonage that they volunteerily terminated their account.
If someone finds it before me, feel free to post a reference. -- $100 placed at 7 percent interest compounded quarterlyfor 200 years will increase to more than $100,000,000 --by which time it will be worth nothing.- Lazarus Long |

So NO ONE has tried it yet? I really dont want to try it as my Circuit City is fresh out of PAP2's, else I would've tried it and replaced it if it didnt work. |
