The two can only be compared if all you do is make 100 minutes (or less) of outgoing US calls a month. Otherwise, they're pretty different services.
I speak in the sense that I would hardly use a second line in almost any scenario, but this one gives you a US based DID. I agree with you, it's like comparing apples and oranges, but they are both fruit and one is cheaper than the other depending on where you are and what time of year it is.

I guess it would have been better to say that there is not much of a comparison, but they are both free (sort of).

Well said. CP and VB is actually the combination I'm using now on my 2-line Linksys PAP2.
