said by bito : You just better be the first one there doing it Yep!, cause if You ain't, then You ain't doing shit!. Since it will lunch all of the spectrum, there is only room for one user with these radios. My guess is that it will stand on Trango and Alvarion units too? -- »www.wavecrazy.net Join WISPA today! »www.wispa.org/ |

| reply to freedom357 Not to knock Ubiquiti but I'd go look at a channel width on a 900mhz freq converter and tell me if you like it. Seriously this is simply going to be an 802.11ag chipset with a different RF middle section.
When Tranzeo comes into 900 Mhz it'll be in the same way. -- CCNA, Comtrain Certified Tower Climber |

| reply to bito I currently use the Ubiq cards, and love them!!! They are awesome. If you notice - they do not have Windows drivers for the SR2 and SR5 cards. They do make the SRC cardbus card for laptops, but it really isn't anymore power than anything else on the mkt. They are aiming at our industry - not the home market. I was begging Robert Pera with Ubiquiti several months ago on the 900 and 3.5 hardware. I am really looking forward to building a Mikrotik AP with a 900Mhz card in it. Then use a WRAP board with MT on the other end. It will be awesome!!! -- »magicwisp.com |

| reply to John Galt 2 questions:
1) How in the fark did they do that? My guess is a frequency converter.
2) Are they hiring? They are going to sell about 8 bazillion of these things if they work
Although I would imagine the CPE cost would still end up being comparable to other proprietary solutions (bought in bulk). |

| reply to Believer said by Believer :I get the feeling this just hosed the already crowded 900MHz spectrum. There are plenty of places it can still be used...places where there is nary a peep of 900 activity.
Bring 'em on!

You guys gotta move out of the city...get some fresh air!

| reply to KevinG0 said by KevinG0 :I'm DEFINITELY interested in this. I'd like to see something more than "soon" and "reasonable", though. Agreed!. If they come out with just the card?, then Mikrotik will be the ONLY way to go for both AP and CPE. Not that it's a bad thing, it just means that all of us using premade AP's and CPE's will switch over quickly!:D -- »www.wavecrazy.net Join WISPA today! »www.wispa.org/ |
