[Connectivity] It's Comcastic!

After moving a few weeks ago and having provisioning problems. Tuesday everything quit working again while I was out of town. Call Wednesday morning to open a ticket and the CSR tried to re-provision my modem several times but had to escalate up to another level. She said it would take about 24-48 hours for them to fix the problem. Called back this morning when things still were not working. No update in the ticket, Tech says he will notify them again. Tried calling the home Vonage number, forwards to my cell phone so I guess it is still not working (approaching 36 hours) ... will call back when I get home from work. If anyone has gone through this before...how long did it take Comcast to fix the problem? Does calling back every few hours help? Is there a way to escalate this within Comcast if it still isn't working after 48 hours? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

don't know where you live, but in Montgomery county MD, there is no "minimum response time" mandate for HSI like there is for cableTV (if cable tv goes out, has to be fixed within 24 or 48 hours or something like that). They can take as long as they like to resolve HSI issues and in some cases they take a looooonnngggg time.

My HSI service went out and tech determined it was a bad cable between the distribution box (the mushroom) and my house. They scheduled a digging crew to show up in 7-10 days. It actually took about two weeks. The tech left the mushroom unlocked, so I scrounged up some spare coax I had laying around the house and ran the cable out the window and on the grass to get hooked up.

I have had more subtle problems (packet loss, ping spikes) that took almost two months to get fixed.

Good Luck.
