Hey Keizer, maybe you'll have better luck with the newest beta... I mean release build od TI. LOL. Great post! Tell the rest of us Snagit users how you did that. I just downloaded the update. As soon as it's installed, I may be able to do that with TI 9.0 .2302 as well. Har har har!:)

Yeah, and the install actually failed... second time around it took.

I couldn't get version 7.2.5 to install on top of 7.2.4 .
(Although the web site recommended it.)

Tried three times. Finally removed the previous version then the new one took hold.

Hmmm.. too much trouble. I'm not touching 7.2.5 yet. Especially because of my philosophy that updating without a changelog is kind of worthless to me... what's the point of updating if you're not even aware of the changes you're making to the system... well, aside from the knowledge that you will have the latest and greatest (or--not) version?

My current version works beautifully

No problems here upgrading 7.2.1 to 7.2.5. Running W2K.

I also updated right over the top. So far, so good!

Hummmm, wonder what I did wrong......

I had installed upgrades on top of the previous versions
of SnagIt before without any problems.

Next time I'll have my coffee first then do my upgrades so as to be wide awake.:D

I had a little problem with installing this new version 7.2.5 on my W98SE (Dutch) machine.
It could be my own fault, or my system, or something else; I don't know.

(I have had for quite some time both v 6 and v 7 installed...
Have had no problem with it.)

Just installed v 7.2.5
Installed it over the top (meaning: my previous version of v-7 was not uninstalled).

I couldn't start it.
It was telling me that gdiplus.dll was missing .
So I checked with file-integrity-checker NIS File Check to see what happened.
Indeed, for some reason, gdiplus.dll was removed from the SnagIt 7 folder:

OK, I looked around on my system, and I found the exact same file in my Nero folders.
For example (NIS File Check again):

So I copied that file gdiplus.dll to my SnagIt 7 folder.
And now I was able to start SnagIt 7 again

For those of you who cannot get a RMD160 Hash, here is the MD5:
The file C:\Program Files\TechSmith\SnagIt 7\gdiplus.dll has the following Checksum(s)
MD5 - 871C903A90C45CA08A9D42803916C3F7

And for the record, my install-file was:
The file D:\SnagIt\Version 7_2_5 upgrade\snagitup.exe has the following Checksum(s)
MD5 - 8E3DA7EFCE799BC4DA1FC54FEC17B87B
