My digital cable works fine, but my modem is blinking on just receiving sometimes just blinking when it gets to the online stage. Anyone having the same problems? |

We were fortunate enough to have our power restored on Tuesday at about 4pm. |

Hollywood, FL | Cooper City here, power, phone, no cable at all...my understanding is FPL cut the fiber optics that feed the area up here and 7 splicing crews are in the area and a new cable needs to be laid across 595.
I'm on a dial up now. |

tv was up and running wed, when we [thank goodness] got our power back. Actually three island area. Most of power stuff is underground, except of course for cable. |

We got cable back yesterday but no HSI.
My understanding is a fiber optic line was cut that runs across 595 and COMCAST had 7 splicing crews in to repair the damage. 595 needs to be closed, again from a contact in COMCAST, for the line to be run.
That's the last I heard on Friday and HSI was supposed to be restored.
Looks like they missed that deadline. |

| I think Hsi comes a few days after cable. As I said we got our power back Wed and it was Sat before Hsi.
When I did speak to Comcast they had no power in their office and had trouble bringing up any info on individual problems.
I think we need to be patient and once you get tv, hsi should be comming soon after.
By the way the speeds are all over the place.

Yea I noticed that too. No where near the 8 meg I usually get *heh actually it was like that before the hurricane for a week too :|*
Still patience is in order. We did get kncked around quite abit. That and I just got Both HSI and TV back today *had it for an hour on friday but apparantly FPL was up to some shennanigans* |

i got power back wednesday at 2.
i got internet back thursday around 2 as well. lost it around 11 pm. hasnt came back since.
speed was usual 6mpbs for me.
i got an sb5120 modem, all 4 lights are on, it connects, gives my ip a 192 ip then a few mins later, windows loses the ip and gets a 169 ip (i'm thinking its due to the modem itself) but my neighbor says he doesnt have internet as well (comcast) and my co-worker said he had internet on thursday as well but lost it. he lives in north miami beach and i'm just south of miramar.
comcast doesnt say anything. |

Got power back at about 5pm, and both Cable and HSI were active immediately. My download speeds are supposed to be 4Mbps, and the max I'm seeing is 556Kbps according to the tests on this site. Nothing new, that is what I was getting before the hurricane. Seems pretty slow and it's been like this for a while. Any ideas or suggestions? Should I call Comcast? I have both Linksys Router and Sunrocket IP telephone in the loop. |

| Coconut Grove has no internet. It went down for me about an hour before I lost power on Monday. My power went back on Thursday night but still no HSI as of now (Sunday night). I don't know about cable tv as I have satellite which worked fine as soon as I got power on of course. I'm hoping for HSI soon since some of you have gotten back on. My sister in Plantation has no power, phone or internet yet. |

| Still nothing here in Cooper City for HSI.
I have friends now growing impatient and ordering Bellsouth DSL, BS is promising them a 3 day provision and modem delivery. I think in situations like this hurricane, BS may have done better in some locations and as bad as Comcast in others. This dial up is killing me:)
I did talk to a local guy that said HSI AT THE LATEST, fully restored the end of the week. As FPL finihes they are going in behind them, and as I mentioned earlier I heard something about a cut fiber line around 595 but thats not been verified.
We're lucky at least we have power and phones. |
