Re: Apple Store Question

said by gabeman See Profile :

Strange question, but it's something I'm curious about as well. When I do the self-checkout at the grocery store, I always get crisp, flat bills back. I wonder if they have some sort of machine that automatically flattens the bills.
For my grocery store we just get whatever money Brinks sends us.

I believe with self checkout, the bills one puts in there are not the bills you get back. The bills you get back are probably straight from the bank that morning, which also helps with the operation of the machine.

Does that mean that you're the Apple finder-er and fire-er?
No, but I've run into them. This is all I'm going to say about this.

Are you joking?

Could be that very few people actually pay with cash at the Apple store (large purchases), so all of the money that they get back in change comes straight from the reserve/distributor/bank.

There is no policy to that effect at our store
I hope for your sake you don't work for Apple as they monitor forums to find employees to fire.

Trust me.

I wouldn't know. I only use credit cards there, and my receipts are always crispy 8x11 sheets of paper fresh from the printer.

Whenever I buy anything from the Apple store, the change is always new crispy bills. Everyone else also got new crispy bills. If anyone here works at the apple store, do you know if they deliberately do this? Knowing Apple, they are probably required to go to the bank and trade the torn up messed up bills for new crispy ones at the bank. Maybe its part of Apple's image? Everything else looks nice, why not the money too
