Vacation Status on Phone and DSL

Anyone actually done this? Anyone put your phone on hold/subspension/vacation mode and keep your dsl?

The account rep said this could be done but i wanted to know if anyone actually did this.

this is on the page:

Option 2: Suspending Service
Suspending service lets you temporarily suspend your service for a month or more. Choose this option if you plan to return to your residence within a few months and want to keep your current telephone number.

During the suspension period:

Your telephone number is reserved for you
Your monthly local service rate is reduced while your service is suspended
A message referring callers to another number is available at no charge
Your BellSouth Long Distance service will be discontinued, and you will no longer be charged for this service
Please note: BellSouth FastAccess® DSL service will not be suspended

A couple of my friends do. They never use the telephone (only their cells).

Sneaky work around. Its not intended to allow you to have dsl without a phone line, but it could be made to look that way. I think if a lot of people did it, BS would catch on and put a stop to it.

Has anyone done this with BellSouth in South Carolina? (I assume from Rob's profile that his friends are on BellSouth in Florida...)
