| [SunRocket] Fax Settings?
Hi. Can anyone help me with my fax settings? I can get outgoing to work, but not incoming. I tried to read some of the post, but I can't find the settings they refer too. Any help would be appreciated. i have an HP PSC 2210, and I have my connection as cable modem to gizmo to router, with the phone line from line one of the gizmo to the HP, and then from the outgoing of the machine to the phone itself.
Also, does anyone know if you can set up the fax to monitor voicemail for a fax tone like you could with an answering machine?
thanks. Michelle |

| I really recommend you use one of the signature numbers for the fax.
What you do is forward it to a J2 free incoming fax service..
So all your faxes go to your email.
The nice thing about it.. is that even j2 stopped the service you can always forward it to another service like efax...
Hope this helps.

| lowsoeed, that is a great idea! You can also use e-fax as well, think they are owned by the same company. The only problem is depending how many faxes you get per month.
madisonva, you could also try to use a PC for you fax and voicemail. I used to have a program that did both, but can't seem to find the name right now. On the settings, I did nothing, but lower the speed of the machine for transmission to 9600 bps. It is a little slower than 14.4, but it works for me. Also make sure if you can turn off error correction, it would help as well. -- Rich**Vonage Business User & SunRocket Home User** |

| Well i actually saw that idea here somewhere...
I know efax has a limit... but so far with j2 i've been able to recieve quite alot of faxes.
You can also register multiple free fax numbers and just keep rotating between them with the forward function. |

| reply to madisonva Another free service that is pretty good is ipkall.com for faxing. You get a local number (WA state) that you could forward the SR signature line to. So, you can give out your signature number as your fax number and all incoming faxes are sent straight to your email.
Another thing: Many have been able to get faxing with fax machines work quite reliably with Sunrocket. It does require tweaking with the gizmo settings a bit. Some users reported that they called SR and had a technician change the settings necessary to make it work reliably for them. |

| reply to madisonva IPKall is better because you receive the messages in TIFF format, not the proprietary J2/eFax software that is more than just a simple reader (it was a nuisance when they had a reader/pro version but now it's just plain annoying) -- Am Heimcomputer sitz' ich hier, und programmier' die Zukunft mir |
