| Free A/V - not for personal use
I'm working on a project for school where, in a hypothetical situation, we'll need to install an antivirus solution on a housing network consisting of approximately 205 workstations. For this project we are given a budget, and I was hoping to find a free solution that we would be able to use in this type of situation. I've seen the options at »Security »Are there any free anti-virus programs?, but most (if not all) of them are for home/personal use only.
Does anybody know of a free antivirus solution that would work in this environment? Or very cheap?
Any suggestions are appreciated!!!! -- my website: »www.utdallas.edu/~bal023000 |

| reply to DFWDraco76 we're not actually going to purchase anything.... so even though it's for a school project -- in the hypothetical situation I am part of a team that has been contracted to build this network for a housing authority. Does that make sense? -- my website: »www.utdallas.edu/~bal023000 |

The problem you will find with any "FREE" Anti-Virus program is that they usually don't do real-time scanning and have to be manually run or scheduled (some don't even scan e-MAIL's). ClamWin will scan outlook mail attachments. -- Personal Theme Song:RUSH - Mystic Rythms from Power Windows. Rush Radio Website -- WinAmp Stream 24/7 |
