| P-334WT SuperG Mode is not working?
Hi there,
I'm new to this forum. I installed a brand new Zyxel P-334WT router for my home use and it works great as expected.
The only problem is that it is meant to support the SuperG mode (or turbo mode) but it doesn't work at all.
I have a Toshiba P25-S520 notebook coming with an Atheros AR5001X+ WIFI card that supports the "turbo" mode of 108 Mbps. I upgraded the Router with the latest firmware version (3.60 JN.8) and i also installed the latest drivers for my card (3.3.0.156) but the Atheros client utility says that my router only supports 54 Mbps and NO SuperG mode.. question is.. why? Zyxel usses atheros technology and i should be able to use the SuperG mode.
The "USE G+" option is already selected in the configuration of the router in the wireless section but i believe something is missing somewhere.
Can somebody help me here?
I'm attaching a screen shot where the client utility shows that the router supports the G mode (54Mbps) but the "SuperG" column is EMPTY when it should say that it is being used.
Thank you in advance.

If so, that explains the problem - 108Mbps is not standardised.

| reply to striderec The P334WT uses a MiniPCI card. It has a model number of WM610-T with a FCC ID of N89-WM610-T. The chip that I can see is a TI TNE TW1130GVF 43Z3718 D4
To be honest Super G never worked the way it was supposed to. Most anyone that has tried to use it found they had a worse signal and lower speeds then using the standard G mode. And that is with LIKE equipment, I.E. from the same maker. -- Shooter Ready--Stand By BEEP ******** |

| hmmmm it sounds like i need to get a ZyAir PCMCIA Card to have the SuperG or "G+" mode working eh?
Correct me if i am wrong but the ZyAir Card model i should get is the Zyxel G-162 CardBus Adapter, right?
Thank you in advance,
