I specifically was looking for the Hotspot feature. Now I know it says "under development" at the top but what exactly does that mean? Well, plop down $20 and you'll soon find out after browsing the forums that you gain access to.
(Evidently this version was suppose to be released over a year ago!)
Anyways, this ticked me off. I decided to post my experience on their forums. Big mistake (or maybe a blessing in disguise) Not even one hour later my access to these forums was revoked. HAH!
Can you believe this crap?
And Mr. Sveasoft, I am still awaiting your explanation!

 | Did you pay by credit card? I would call the credit card company and initiate a dispute for reasons such as services/products not received. I know Amex would reverse the charge immediately. -- I'm not from here. |
|
izyPremium,MVM join:2000-09-21 endless loop kudos:1 | Money was refunded (PayPal)
But why Mr. Sveasoft? Why am I not allowed to visit your forums, which I PAID for???
I didn't even badmouth Sveasoft, just explained it would have been nice to know that the ONLY version of Talisman available for purchase is the Basic. All the other versions are not available at this time.
IMO, they took this action because their wallets are so fat and they could care less about drumming up more business let alone keeping the business they have! -- "When I played in the sandbox, the cat kept covering me up.." ~Rodney Dangerfield |

Pretty sad that such a decent product has to be run by a bunch of insecure morons.

1 edit | sveasoft still playing these games??
Apparently they don't take criticism too lightly. I got banned with a good 6 or 8 months still left on the account... They never did refund me, and too late to do a charge back.
For all sveasoft offers, there are alternatives out there (dd-wrt, hyperwrt, etc..) that doesn't come with all the nonsense you get with sveasoft (such as finding out their product isn't really what it is after you paid for it)
PS. If you're really bent on trying out their firmware before paying, there is a site by TheIndividual which has some of their talisman releases. -- Insanity is living in a state of disillusion. |
|
 | reply to izy That was going to be my next question. Since Sveasoft is GPL it certainly makes sense that someone would re-distribute the software without charge. |

izyPremium,MVM join:2000-09-21 endless loop kudos:1 | reply to jsolo1 I was a Sveasoft user for all of 1 day! woohoo! What's that, 364 days left on my subscription? No warning, no explanation, no nothing as to why they banned me.
Anyways, in the Talisman "development" forums it seemed every thread was about when the versions are suppose to be released without any firm release dates or even a beta release for testing.
Their website listing all the wonderful flavors of Talisman under development is all a bunch of BS. You'd be better off taking that $20 to a craps table. Your odds are definitely better to get something in return. -- "When I played in the sandbox, the cat kept covering me up.." ~Rodney Dangerfield |

avantareGo Tribe join:2000-02-16 Warren, MI 1 edit | I bought into this as well and found out later I should have done more research. As a result I'm out $20 as well. I found that dd-wrt does the same things and more than what Sveasoft offers in Talisman. I'm happy with that even though I'm out 20.

At that point dispute the charge with your CC company or PayPal if you used them. You'll get your $20 back very quick after Sveasoft learns of your dispute. -- "When I played in the sandbox, the cat kept covering me up.." ~Rodney Dangerfield |

You dared to question him... he banned you... of course he refunded your money though - as paypal would close him down so quickly it would be funny.

I have informed some of my friends who were about to pay Sveasoft and they retreated. Ooops, perhaps Mr. Ewing will find and read this post, then take the action to shutdown my forum account, too. Well, who needs Sveasoft that is full with a bunch of incompetence crying out for $$$$. |

 | reply to ptrowski it's easy... They say, SVEASOFT is located in the states, but yet they follow their Web-hosting Co from Ze Germany... Zey don't have freedom of Speachez...
It's simple really, "You don't like it? Whocares!" attitude is the way to go in the "Customer is ALWAYS right" business...
I am beginning to think that sveasoft is related to OpenBSD... I do not know if anyone here would get that!? LOL |
