[Xtreme] The Official Xtreme 6.0 Thread

To making tracking easier for readers and in order to avoid multiple conversations and added confusion as the anticipated deployment nears, this will be the official BellSouth FastAccess Xtreme 6.0 thread.

Please post all questions, ordering information and issues related to Xtreme 6.0 in this thread only. All other Xtreme 6.0 deployment related threads will be closed with a pointer to this thread.

Thanks,
Jazz

Here's a screenshot of my speedtest.

I'm getting 6.0 speeds right now. I haven't ordered anything, and no one has called me to offer me anything. What's going on? I'm not complaining, I'm just wondering how I got 6.0 (without ordering it) a day before anyone can even order it!

Are you on copper or fiber. I ask because Patty says IFITL/PCDATA is not qualified and Micheal says it is. I'm not sure who thought up using these names for the call center agents in India but its a hoot.

I'm hoping you'll answer fiber (but I doubt it) because if not the corporate offices in Atlanta are going to get an ear full tomorrow!

IFITL/PCDATA customers do not qualify.

So here's a question that a knowledgeable answer (preferably from a Bellsouth insider) might prove useful for all of us. Come tomorrow, when we ALL try to get this thing, will there be any difference between logging on and looking for the option to upgrade there vs. calling and asking? Do the humans have extra options the online interface doesn't? Basically, I'm just wondering if I should waste my time brushing up on my Punjabi if I don't have the option online.

Thanks!

So I just talked to a "technician" using the e-chat, and after asking if I would be eligable for the 6.0, this was his/her reply...

"That was a misprint. The service will not be available till next year, we don't know what month. It was supposed to be released in November but do to compatability issues, we where forced to delay it...."

This was after I even gave her the link HERE, heh.

So I'm at a loss here. Who is telling the truth?

Dude, these people don't have a freaking clue. All we can do is keep knocking on the door until someone lets us in. All these turkeys are standing behind that door, each one with a different story as to why the door won't open. But we all know the door will open, someone just has to turn the friggin knob!

your first mistake was to bother with the "eagent in pakistan". your second mistake was to believe him/her.

i'll wait till midnight when the clock rolls over and try to order. if it works, great. if not, i'll try tomorrow.

That, or wait until BellSouth officially announces that 6.0 is available. I'm pretty sure they'll do that.

Yeah, we qualify - we qualify to get screwed over on bandwidth by Bellsouth yet again! Thank you FCC for stamping out ILEC competition and giving Bellsouth a monopoly! and Thank you Bellsouth for being so damn short sighted!

I know that ADSL2+ helps with the distance limitations but that's incredible!

One would think that an Order Button for the 6.0 service along with DSL Lite and other products and services on the web site would be good enough.
