| Ford Recalling Six 2005 Models on Cable, Straps
»news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051116/ap_···d_recall
Ford Motor Co. recalled about 220,000 vehicles from the 2005 model year on Wednesday amid concerns that a battery cable was rubbing against the vehicle frame, potentially causing fires, and that a fuel tank strap could separate after logging tens of thousands of miles.
The recall linked to the cable involves more than 98,000 Ford Crown Victoria, Lincoln Town Car and Mercury Grand Marquis sedans.
A separate recall caused by the separation of fuel tank straps involves more than 123,000 Ford Freestyle crossover vehicles, Ford Five Hundred sedans and Mercury Montego vehicles. -- -- Join Red Room Forum My Web Page |

1 edit | reply to TKJunkMail Ok we've had fun but please don't take this so serious. I work on all models of Japanese and American vehicles and they all have so many recalls/TSB's (technical service bulletins) it's not funny. I know what I'm talking about here because I get all of the factory bulletins from all manufactures.
Every vehicle has design flaws and the manufactuers point this out on a daily basis. I agree there are some vehicles that are better than others by the shear nature of the quality of manufacture standards. Please let's concentrate the matter at hand for this forum and do what we can to help the people who come here asking what to do about those flaws. |

I personally, for one, would prefer to own a vehicle by a company who owns up to problems and actually issues recalls, than one who tries to hide problems to avoid tarnishing a reputation... -- The User formerly known as Desi StYlE |

| reply to TKJunkMail Toyota offered a voluntary recall on Truck (V6) headgaskets.
I saw vehicles with upwards of 400,000 kms get done completely free of charge to the customer. One got two new heads, as they were badly corroded at the sealing surface.

3 edits | reply to TKJunkMail I hope FORD would one day, build & carefully inspect their vehicles before rolling it off the production line. My family owns a FORD product and we're not too happy about all these recalls going on with our model, the Grand Marquis. We love the ride quality and we certainly appreciate the safety features it offers but we aren't that happy with the build quality.
I am a diehard Toyota & Honda man, but neither does Toyota or Honda offer a full size family sedan with smooth ride quality & generous safety features like full size American sedans; i.e: Grand Marquis, Crown Victoria, Lincoln Town car, Cadillac Deville, etc. -- I SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGE!...ONLY IF BOTH CHICKS ARE HOT! |
