Ace utilities and error messages.

I have never had issues upgrading to the latest version of Ace utilities. I just installed version 3.0, and just opening up the program from the desktop creates nine error messages in event viewer. I have never had this happen with earlier releases of Ace. I emailed the creator of the software a few days ago, but still waiting for a reply. I am including a few of the error messages.

Is anyone else using the latest version? Everything seems to work just fine, except for the error messages.

XP Pro, SP2, fully patched.

Keizer

Yeah I get the same error in my event viewer. If you hear anything from the creator, please let us know what he/she says.

I can't believe I have not heard back from him yet. He is usually really good at returning emails.

I checked the forum at the Ace web site, but there is no mention of the error message issue with this new version.

Maybe post over at their forum and see if he responds there.

You should have given him the error code like you did here. I think once he sees that he will figure out what went wrong

I did not see the option to add screen captures to my post in their forum. I may go back and at least add some detailed info on the error messages via text.

EDIT: I just added a link to this thread, over at their forum.

Didn't know 3.0 was a beta. Maybe it should of stated that on the website. LOL... Just to let you know Keizer, I downloaded and reinstalled like Cal said and even empty my Browser cache before hand and still get the errors also.

I am not clear if version 3 is beta or not. I originally upgraded to 3.0 through the update feature in the ace utilities program itself.

Don't know if it's related but did you recently install .NET 2.0?

Hey Howie!

No I have not installed .NET 2.0. I was thinking in the back of my mind that maybe because I haven't, that could be my problem. But maybe I am thinking backwards.

I read the post at the Ace Forum and he said only final releases are posted on the Home Page. So I went to the Home Page and downloaded the 3.0. I uninstalled Ace and then installed the 3.0 from the Home Page and I still got the error messages in event viewer, so much for that theory.

Just an update on the situation. I received another email from Hari, and it is copied and pasted below.(Except for the exe file that fixs the problem) This fixed the error problems for me.

Keizer

This error is displayed if the latest Visual C++ Runtimes are missing.
