Deterrent?
said by ViniTheHat See Profile :

more perceptive comment:

if people are stupid enough to:
a) cheat at games
b) not protect their PC's
and
c) trust their email to any new company that pops up and offers a service easily and FREELY performed by other more reputable companies,

If all of the above aren't enough to deter anybody, the attached screen should do it.

What if people use this service or any other for legitimate reasons that don't include game cheats? Do you think that innocent people still deserve to have bad things happen to them? I certainly don't. But then again, I have just completed several classes on ethics and philosophy.

Anyway, can anyone tell me why the "people who are uninformed about computers deserve negative consequences of their ignorant acts" idea is so prevalent in the help-desk industry (via these forums)? I don't see this attitude in other professions (e.g., doctors, lawyers). Why the bitterness?
I see it all to much here kind of worries me about the state of the world.

I think it stems to most it workers being the "geeks" and being abused in school. They finally have something they can hold over the "jocks" and popular peoples heads.

I mean really can we all expect every one using a computer to know how to reinstall their network stack if it breaks ? I don't understand all the bitterness either.

just glad to see this guy get the press he deserves, I would hate to see someone who's not savy of these kind of deceptive practices get hosed by this guy.

Excellent point ripn!

It is the uninformed user that may not be tech savvy enough to understand the issues.

You say who cares? How about someone in YOUR family gets screwed over by a deal like this? Do you care now?

30gb yea right... everyone thought that when google came round with 1gb email that it was a joke. How 30gb can be possible I dunno, with the company at least with a company that is not heard of, or has a bad presentation of itself already.
