They remove their copper from the house to the distribution point (poll, box, etc). They can't touch anything that's not theirs.

| Given that I'm still using Verizon's copper-based phone service, they certainly didn't touch it when they did the fios install. I wasn't interested in using the fios-based phone service, as the packages they offered were all more expensive than the plain-vanilla service I already had. (I do all my long distance via cell phone, naturally.)
I would imagine that they've got a solution for it, but I wonder how my ADT home alarm system would hook into a fios-based phone system... |
