no... if they were using authentication to avoid mail relay then @msn.com or @hotmail.com couldn't use comcast's outgoing mail servers... comcast is blocking mail going TO msn or hotmail addresses. The only logical response I can see is because the new sober variant has hit MSN/hotmail pretty hard.
